This Award Pin, is a die cast lapel pin. This Award Pin starts from sketch or idea to create a ‘Master’ metal mold. The master contains all details of the lapel pin. Several copies of master will be produced to create a rubber molding disk. Melton metal (mostly Zinc alloy) is then injected into mold under high pressure to create intricate shapes that can include cutouts and holes. Under the high pressure, melton metal creates a clean smooth surface and a uniformly accurate final result. Then it cools and hardens resulting in a very durable pin. This Award Pin shows complex shapes and details of design, it has multiple surface levels that will give a 3 dimensional overall presentation. Once the pins have been hardened, it is time to add plating.
